Ever have those moments when your mind becomes a fog? You can’t concentrate or think clearly, and suddenly all your daily tasks or workload keep running together – making your job, life and relationships impossible to coexist.

I’m in that boat all the time. 

Adulting can literally take over sometimes, causing distress and the inevitable heaviness from growing priorities and responsibilities. If you haven’t been there – what are you doing? Please enlighten me! And while it feels like we’re sprinting through a marathon just to keep up, we usually forget about one very important aspect: ourselves.

And one of the ways in relieving that stress is dedicating extra times to ourselves. So I have compiled over 25 self care tips when you are stressed out (to the max)!

Concentrate on your breathing in silence (minimum of 3 minutes!)

Go to sleep with ambient sound therapy

Bathe in Epsom salt

Drink lavender chamomile tea before bed

Get a deep tissue massage; or utilize a vibrating head massager 

Exercise (for at least 15 minutes)

Schedule in a power nap

Play with your pet

Make an appreciation list (things/people you cherish in your life)

Read a book

Indulge in your favorite treat (did someone say ice cream!?)

Clean the house; de-clutter your space

Cook yourself a meal you enjoy (unless cooking stresses you out!)

Take a walk

Spend time OFF technology/social media

Have more sex, or masturbate (well…let’s be honest, it can help!)

Write in a journal

Make a list of the things that stress you out (become self aware of what triggers your stress)

Meditate or do Yoga (take a class for better results/experience)

Grocery shop (Hey, some find this to be soothing…)

Create something to anticipate or look forward to (a night out, date night, binge watching your favorite show, etc.)

Splurge a little (go shopping, pamper yourself – you deserve it!) in moderation, of course

Sleep with a body pillow (you’re welcome)

Start up a DIY project or craft

Take boxing classes (sometimes the best stress relief is to punch it out!)

Get out with friends more

Take a drive

Plan a trip (literally…start up a financial plan and goal, pick a place and time!)

Starting say “No” more

Make a 1 to 10 To-Do list (being more organized may help, or reorder tasks from most to least important)

Reevaluate the people/relationship in your life (the one(s) that might be causing the stress)

Have that glass of wine (don’t justify it)

Get more Vitamin D (whether in the backyard, by the pool or at the beach)

Ask for help

Eliminate some items on your To-Do list (don’t put so much on your plate, girl!)

Go to bed early

Get into some yard work or gardening (sometimes getting your hands dirty can do the trick)

Listen to your body and mind more (if you simply want to sit around and do absolutely nothing for a day – DO IT)

Put together a puzzle, or do a crossword

Set 3 achievable goals (whether financial, personal or life in general – and write them down – the key is making them within reach without flying off the deep end)

Take a personal day from work (because we are ALL entitled to – for no reason – once in a while)

Fill your room/space with essential oils (get an essential oil diffuser)

Reassure yourself with more positivity (literally, by speaking to your inner self)

Laugh more (watch a funny movie, or silly YouTube videos for a quick stress release)

Take a weekend “staycation”

Get out of your comfort zone (sometimes staying in it provokes or induces more stress)

Give yourself a spa day – face mask, nails polished, legs shaved, hair done, and makeup on (because looking and feeling good can be beneficial)
