The secret is out, and hopefully I am one in a million to have concocted this. For the chocolate lovers out there, this one’s for you. These chocolate key lime fudge cake bars are probably going to give you one good kick in the arse (in a good way – if you know what I mean).
Another year, another birthday. My husband told me, “I want something Key Lime…” when I asked him what he wanted me to bake for his special day. That literally meant anything – so I went waaaaay overboard than I probably should have. #noregrets, honestly.
Nonetheless, if it’s a birthday you’re supposed to have CAKE right?! So I knew I wasn’t leaving that one out. Yet, it was seriously close to November, which was making me feel very… jolly, and festive. I really wanted to kick off the Holiday season right, and fudge was usually the family tradition as far as desserts goes.

So there you have it – a star is born! Seriously, guys, hands down one of THE BEST desserts I’ve ever made (I probably said that last year, but who’s counting). While it was incredibly tricky at points, it’s actually quite simple to make – there are just 4 separate steps to the process. So if you’re stricken and determined – please, please give this one a try!
It’s perfect for those upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings, Holiday treats, or for that special occasion. The plus side: flavor possibilities are ENDLESS. My husband wanted Key Lime – that was that. But you could do peanut butter chocolate, mint or peppermint chocolate, cookie dough, cake batter, strawberry chocolate, pumpkin, apple, maple bacon – yeah, and I’m going to stop right there.
